If you haven’t seen Ellen Page’s TV series “Gaycation” where she travels the world to see the impact of different LGBTQ+ experiences than you’re missing out! This show is amazing and really opened my eyes as an LGBTQ+ person to the hardships and victories of the community around the world. I highly recommend watching the series. On top of this groundbreaking series, Ellen Page is a proud Lesbian looking to share not only hers but others experiences in the community through her platform.
Laverne Cox is one of the few successful trans actresses where she found the main point of her fame through starring in Orange Is The New Black (OITNB). I shared in a tweet the other day that trans people are behind in the journey to equality compared to other queer people to no fault of their own. We are behind in the entertainment industry due to lack of trans actors/actresses being given the opportunity for different roles along with being behind in actually being represented in a scripted movie/play. Laverne is a beautiful woman who is paving the way to success in entertainment as a trans person.
Halsey makes a point every live show to share the love with the LGBTQ+ community. She is a proud bisexual woman, sometimes people call her the “tri-bi” since she is bisexual, bipolar, and biracial. She uses her platform to educate, inform and spread the love with the LGBTQ+ community. Not only does she send love to fellow bi people but she paves the way for the normalization of trans and queer folk.
Miley is probably one of the most sexual artists in history. She’s not scared to share her sexuality with the public in several different ways. She came out as pansexual after rumours spread she was dating Stella Maxwell which she downplayed but to be honest, they were one of my favourite celebrity couples! Now married to Liam Hemsworth Miley makes sure that the public knows she’s still queer. Through her Happy Hippie Foundation Miley has helped raise and donate thousands to people with mental health issues and in the LGBTQ+ community. She uses her platform to do us proud!
I think pretty much everyone knows that Lady Gaga is a queen when it comes to the LGBTQ+ community and mental health. She is a consistent advocate that practices drag. We are very proud to have her use her platform to share and include people of all sexualities, genders, and abilities.
